I haven't the slightest idea what could be causing your problem but It could be helpfull to give some more information, eg what windows you are using, the version of girder, other software that you're running, or what errors are generated (if any)...

strange that winXP doesn't report any execpetion or illegal operation.
I'm running girder 3.2.5pre2 under winXP prof EN here and no pobs. The only plug I don't have experience with is that Igor thing.

are you shure there aren't any other programs running which could cause the problem? an audio player perhaps? did you always have had this problem with girder? have you used other versions or maybe you've installed new hardware/drivers/windows updates/software recently?

Hiho,

sometimes, when I will close girder or minimize it, it will hang up and takes the whole system with in death. :(
The variable window is concerned, too. is there anything known?

oh, for sure I can...
my OS is windows xp Pro and the girder version is 3.2.4 in german...

girder generates _no_ error messages or anything, just hang up, toghether with the whole system. STRG-ALT-DEL doesn't work, too.

maybe, the plugins I installed are even interesting:
Igor SFH-56 device
OSD Popup
OSD menu
send message.

the error arises only sometimes, I can't see a system behind it.

is there a bugfix for that?

Luemmel

no, thats not a good solution... I'd like to stay by windows xp.

EDIT: and the plugin writer? is he able to fix?

it happens to me too.
I have win xp, when Igor plugin is enabled causes Girder to crash when I try to minimize or close the window.
Somebody knows how to fix this?

Cheba

PS: I downloaded the last version of Igor's Plugin but nothing changed

Cheba I tend to have the same problem under girder with XP using the skinned function of XP, but I managed to reduce the risks of getting this accurance by selecting "disable visual theme" in the "Compatibility" tab of the shortcut properties.

this said, I have the same problem with other popups from girder, even if called via a lua script.

I am not certain if there is a link but I also use XP/Girder/IgorPlug
