Please send me an email about which codes the plugin reports on particular key press, it seems that there are several different revisions of the TV card.

I loaded this into the latest final Girder (3.2.4) and whenever I press a button, it reports that it is receiving the signal over and over. Is this a common problem that I just don't have set up correctly? When I press another button, the command is changed, but the light keeps switching between green and yellow in the taskbar of the main window.
I'm using an AverTV Studio remote with this plugin, under Windows 2000. I'm trying to use it with Zoom Player, and loaded the .gml file exported by Zoom Player itself.
Thanks,
Mike

I run into the same problem with my AverTV Studio. It works correctly if I have Aver's QuickTV program running. With QuickTV I lose the use of several buttons as they will already run commands. But without quick TV, buttons seem to get stuck on super repeat mode. The last button pressed just keeps repeating over and over until I hit a new one which then it repeats. I've had this problem both with the old plugin under Girder 3.1 and with this new one.
PS- THANKS for writing this plugin. I was wondering if one would ever show up for the new version of girder and I really appreciate it :D
(Some of the remote codes, if you would like them all, let me know)
Play - "AVER_1A"
STOP - "AVER_DA"
PAUSE - "AVER_5A"
REC - "AVER_9A"

Yeah thanks also for posting this plugin here, and thanks Oliver for posting the work around.
FYI I got this working fine with v3.0 of Grinder... post me if anyone wants the drivers for this.
Hope we can fix this problem.

Hi, I have had a plug in for aver TV studio running for 6 months. I found it by searching the forums and it works fine. I have to have quicktv running for it to function ok.
You can get around the problem of "losing several buttons" by renaming your avertv applications so they won't run when you hit the corresponding remote button. eg I renamed the avertv appication avertv2k ......avertv2k_ so now when I hit the power button on the remote Avertv does not start. You can now use this key with girder to do what you like. Same goes for the teletext,cd etc butons. I use dscaler for my tv app but you can still use the aver tv apps as well - just point girder to the renamed app.

Hi mac
thanks for writing the plugin. I am sure I can also be used on my medion 7134 tv card build by avermedia. This card comes with drivers that interface with the averapi.dll (http://145.99.197.110/zooi/averapi.dll) file. With a resource analyser I compared this dll to avertv2k.dll I got out of an avermedia driver package, and it seems both DLL's export many of the same functions, but some are spelled a bit differently and the averapi has less. I could not get the plugin to work out of the box, and have no C-builder at hand to fiddle with the source. Could anyone have a look at the plugin together with the averapi DLL ?
These cards were sold in big quantities last week so there is a buch of people that would benefit !
thanks

Hi
I too have been looking for a possibility to control my computer using the remote that was bundled with this TV-card. But until now without luck.
I have been trying uICE, didnt seem to recieve anything from the remote. SlydiMans control program, same result.
I havent tried Girder because when I read all the information it seem like girder only accepts coomand through the COM or the USB port, and my IR connects to my TV-card directly. But is it possible to use this setup with Girder??
Thanks Steen

girder is in essence a windows event to windows event switchboard. Not just limited to com port etc., but if you find a way (eg through the DLL of a driver that came with it) to let your device generate an event which girder (directly or via or a plugin) can capture, you are in business!
Takes some time though to get it all worked out. :)

I got the driver loaded and it works fine, and I renamed the aver apps so quicktv wouldn't activate them, but I have one more problem. It seems the number keys and the L and R buttons (also labeled display and loop) emulate the mouse by default. Has anyone found a way for it to not do this?
I'd like to be able to send the numbers to dscaler and other apps without moving and clicking the mouse (since the number 5 corresponds to left mouse click as well), just in case it clicks on something off screen or it brings up an OSD or changes the focus of the windows.
Or maybe theres some option in girder itself I missed which makes the numbers control the mouse (not likely?)
Thanks

It doesn't want to work with my (AverTV Studio 303) card. It shows that can't find avertv2k.dll and advice me to install aver software.
What's wrong?

I tryed to recompile the plugin with new averapi.dll and it compeled successfully but it doesn't work. The plugin just not receive data from the remote control. I do debuging of averapi.dll and mine - they work identical (i mean the call AVER_GetRemoteData in the same way) but my dll does not receive any data form RC. If anybody have any idea what is the problem tel tell be because there still isn't working plugin for AverTV 303.
