22 ohm will drive a single led with the same current (120mA) as the 10 ohm and 2 leds.

2 diodes will produce twice the power than one, so it will work on longer distances or you could spread them to reach equipment in different places.

Could someone give me the proper R5, R6 value for attaching
one TSAL6200 rather than two to the IR emitter jacks on
a UIRT2?

Whats the practical difference between using one and two diods???
bettersignal?, longer transmission? wider?
