Hi John,
I don't think that those windows send a shell-event. Thats what I use to detect if a window is created. I don't currently know of another way to detect a new window.
Girder probably can detect the window via the windowexists function but you have to use that when you want to run an action. If you only want to run an action when that window is open the you would us the windowexists function.

I'm not sure what you mean, could you be a little bit more specific ?

The target window is only used when you are programming Girder and pressing refresh should not be a to big of a problem. So I won't program that one to update automagically.
If there is no other way can you step on it (task manager)?
Put monitor on the ground, step on it
What do you mean ?

Don't apologise,. I was not being nice...
What you want is the TaskCreate plugin, check that one out. I don't know if it will detect subwindows but you can give it a try.

Hmmm so it doesn't show the name of the new window, okay. But when the new (sub)window pops up, does the girder light flash ?....

Then you are out of luck for now. Girder can not react to a subwindow opening.
But you can make actions test for the existence of a window, maybe you should look into that.

Ahem. If you are wondering what events are being generated by Girder, the Logger plugin can help. Install it in the Software directory, enable it on the file/settings/action plugins page and Logger will show you every event from every plugin that goes through Girder.

Hi Ron!
Can Girder detect when a sub window in an application is opened or closed -like recorder window of musicmath jukebox- and execute a command, and if not yet are you planning to do?
Thanks, JOHN

Hi again
I'll give you an example.
The musicmatch jukebox software runs when execute the mmjb.exe.
When runs in the "windows task manager" or in girders "target" page you will see three "windows" named a)musicmatch jukebox, b)playlistMgr (playlist) c)expancion window
and when press the REC button it creates a new window named MMJBRecorder.
The girder needs to press the "refresh" button or reopen the target page to"see" the new window (MMJBRecorder).
The "win task manager"(in the applications tab) REFRESH automaticaly.
If there is no other way can you step on it (task manager)?
Thank you, JOHN

First problem is my English.Sorry
I now the usage of the target and i don't want you to change that.
I'm asking you for a plugin to work like the task manager (auto detection of these windows)
The action that i want to make is:
a)I'm pressing the REC button and the recorder window opens
b)Girder detects that the ROCORDER window opens and executes a command (like moving that window)- the same way with the taskcreate.dll plugin, that detects the .exe (create/close) .
Sorry again
THANK YOU
JOHN

No the taskcreate.dll detects only the exe.
I think that it needs a new pluggin.
Thank you
John

Thank you for your time
