View Full Version : Two IR values per button?

Hi,
I'm using UIRT to receive IR commands and Im seeing some wierd behaviour both in Girder and the UIRT receiver.
First, when I press a button I get two values which alternate per press on the remote. For example, the first press Girder will receive 123, the next press of the same button gives 456, the next press 123...
I thought that was odd but I could live with it - just program both codes as events for the commands I wanted.
However, even with only 1 of the two codes as events, each press of the button gives me TWO commands of that event, e.g. up twice in zoomplayer. The next press I get nothing as thats the second value I get. If I program BOTH signals from the same button as events I think I get 2 commands PER press then.
I'm using a universal marantz remote. Anyone help or shed some light on the problem?
Thanks!
Jonathan

Jotter,
I can confirm that many Marantz/Philips remote commands (which rely on the RC5 protocol) do generate two codes in alternance with the UIRT2. The fix you suggest should work fine (If you have a universal remote, you could also try another brand of equipment, as most do not exhibit this behavior) -- Note that not all RC5 devices generate two commands with the UIRT2 (the devices numbered 1,2,3, and 4 do not)
Have you tried increasing the antirepeat time (say to 250 or 500 ms)? this might eliminate the second problem you have
Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion - using the anti-repeat time has solved the second problem.
However, its not really ideal as doing "mouse" actions which are far nicer when they are rapidly performed (e.g. holding the left command down) rather than with the timeout.
Oh well, at least its working...
Thanks

Jonathan,
I'm having the same problem with UIRT2-B and TSU6000 Pronto! I thought I was going crazy!!
Have you found a better solution? Can you please send me your TT/UIRT2 file for Girder?
My email is uirt@deprada.net
Thanks
