Keyboard control can be a pain because windows just was not thought to be used like this. There are a few things you can do.
Check if you got the targetting setup correctly
Set the targeting to foreground
Try to capture the Commands instead of using the key emulation
Let me know if any of these worked.

I've been scrutinizing PowerStrip, but sadly it doesn't use the WM_HOTKEY mechanism, thus sending events seems like a difficult task. I've sent them an email asking if they have an API for external programs.

The guys are EnTech where very helpfull and gave me a very nice tip. The Commandline interface. Now why didn't i think of that.
If you made a profile in PowerStrip and you want girder to activate the profile just use this:
PStrip.exe /p:MyProfile
Where you replace MyProfile by the name that you choose for the respective profile. Easy as that!

Hi, I need some help with using hotkeys with Powerstrip 3.0. I have setup several hotkeys to switch between various resolutions but I cannot get Powerstrip to recognize the hotkeys from Girder consistently. When I manually type in a hotkey (ctrl-alt-1), Powerstrip always recognizes the command and executes the hotkey. When I created a command in Girder and test it via F5 or IR, I experience one of two things: either it consistently recognizes the command or it absolutely does not.
Strangely enough, I have found a workaround to the problem that baffles me. If Powerstrip does not recognize the command from Girder, I can go into the hotkey manager, click on shift-alt instead of my default ctrl-alt, then click back ctrl-alt, then click done, and then Powerstrip would start to recognize the commands from Girder consistently!! Wierd.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply, Ron! I was away from home so I couldn't try out your suggestions. Here are my findings:
Targeting: Send to foreground task selected
Capture command: I'm assuming that you are suggesting to capture the mouse command to select a Powerstrip option. I was unable to make this work successfully as well but that could be my inexperience with that function. Is there another way to capture a keyboard command?
Other info: I double checked my workaround to the the problem and it very repeatable. For some reason, if I go into the hotkey manager for Powerstrip and select something other than the ctrl-alt key (I used ctrl-shift), click on ctrl-alt again, and then click close, the Girder commands are once again repeatable. This action shouldn't do anything since I haven't changed the orginal setting but it works. Please note that sending the keystroke via the keyboard works 100% of the time, even without the workaround.
Thanks,
Dennis

Thanks for the suggestion. It worked exactly as you said and is extremely reliable.
Thanks!
