you can allready do that using a new command and and 'GOTO' the old one.
I've setup three remote controllers that way and my action commands do not react directly to an event.

What about multievent option in next Girder versions?
Could you add this option via new button "add event" on Girder Control Panel or via plugin?
It will be easier to set two or more events to one command.
