I'm doing something similar using Girder to keep track of HT component states along with the Slink-e to send IR commands as required.
It's fairly easy to do but hard to explain--If you'd like I can email you a small example gir file.

I know this can be done but not sure best approach.
My projector has a power toggle option I am controlling via Marks serial plugin.
I want to keep state via a register to say a power command has been issued and the projector is on. Then if the projector is on and an off command is issued then it will turn off but if it is already off the off command is not issued as this would turn it on.
How do I set and then check registers and apply an if command.
Thanks Rick
