First, thanks for the SetWaveDev plugin--it works great and has solved 99% of my sound card switching problems.

The final 1% has proven itself to be a bit daunting

All of my HTPC audio is routed to my DD A/V receiver. My receiver does not allow me to discretely select between Digtal and Analog audio modes. For the sake of simplicity, it's much easier for me to have all of the HTPC's audio exit via my M-Audio 24/96 soundcard's SPDIF output. This is working fine for PowerDVD, WinAmp, Windows sounds, etc, but the 24/96 handles PC game audio very poorly.

As such, I use the SetWaveDev plugin to switch to my motherboard's sound blaster compatible embedded sound card. The SB audio (line) out is run to the 24/94 L&R audio in via a 3.5mm stereo plug to dual RCA plug cable.

While this works very well it requires a Patchbay Router change in the M-Audio (DELTACPL.cpl) applet. I have created and saved 2 configurations within the applet that set the patchbay settings appropriately depending on the mode I need. Unfortunatlely this requires launching the applet to make the changes which prevents reliable automation.

My thought was to use your RegSetValue to set the appropriate reg key value but I can't seem to find where in the registry the change takes place. I can find both saved configurations but not where the changes are set.

Any thoughts?

For that matter, any chance you'd consider adding M-Audio patchbay router support to a future version of the SetWaveDev plugin?

Thanks again -- Steve

Hey Steve you ever figure this one out I want to do some stuff to the M-Audio card to .......it goes to professional audio sometimes on it's own and needs to be on consumer for winamp so I need to set it prior.

cheers Rick

Hi Rick,

To be quite honest, it's been so long (the post is much old than the posting date shows) I can't remember. I'm not using my HTPC for gaming any more so I haven't had a need to switch sound card settings.

Anyway, I've attached a zip of the export group that might get you started.

Good luck -- Steve

rickd,

I've been able to control the delta applet (once it is open and minimized, which a girder script can do upon starting) to control such functions as Mute, Volume, sampling freqency, etc.

The attached CCF should get you started (if you haven't already solved your questions)
