Serial Port Monitor Software Utility??

Anyone (Mark?) know of a good serial port software application that will monitor input/output of activity on the COM port(s) WHILE THEY ARE BEING USED BY GIRDER?? I've found several that can only operate if the port is not being used by another application. I've also found one that monitors an active port but will only operate on W2k or WNT, but not W98SE (which is what I have). :cry:

I use portmon (http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/portmon.shtml) myself. My needs have been rather modest, so it may be missing something.
