Hi Guys,
You might have noticed that the updates to Girder have slowed down a little, the reason for this is that I'm visiting the US starting July 1st. I'll be doing research in the field of Plasma Physics. For those of you that don't know, I'm an applied physics student in the Netherlands.

All of this takes lots of planning and time, the last hurdle was taken today, I've received my visa! I will continue development of Girder in Santa Barbara, but I do not know how often I will have access to internet, or how much time I get to work on Girder, because the research is the purpose of the visit. If anyone knows of a place to stay for 5 months in Santa Barbara let me know!

Maybe I'll see ya on the beach in Santa Barbara doing research

Hi all,

Just to keep you informed, I've found a place to stay yesterday. I now also have internet access (dialup,.. YUCK), so i'll be slowly getting back on track with things.

btw,.. the place i'm living right now is like heaven  mountain view outside my window, and 5 minutes to the beach. Wow,.
i think i'm gonna like the US.

Ron,

You never cease to amaze me . And here I thought you were a programming genius--I had no idea you were also a Physicist in your spare time .

Let me know if you're planning on being on the east coast at all. I'm just outside of Boston and would love to meet you "in person" if you'll be anywhere near here.

Hmm. Five months in California—pretty tough to take. HAVE A WONDERFUL TRIP!

Regards -- Steve

Hey Ron,
Glad to hear your comming to the states. Hope you get time from studying to enjoy the California sun. I can't help ya with the house..as I am in Pennsylvania..but if you plan to visit New York City and need a place to stay for a week or so, I have a house for you. Nobody would be there and you could have free reign.... Just let me know in advance...

Hope you enjoy the states,

Barry
