I am trying to get my HTPC to shut down automatically after like 2h of inactivity.

I have set windows power management but nothing happens. When I set the screen to go into powersave mode, it went black after 20 minutes even though Winamp way playing along.

Obviously inactivity isn't always the same thing. While Windows XP seems to think inactivity means that there is no user input, I only want Windows to shut down if there is no user activity AND Winamp is not playing.

Can Girder help here?

It might be able to help.

Check out the "ImBusy" plugin. It will mark the machine as in use so power management doesn't kick in. You will have to decide when to turn it on and off but it might do the job for you.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I hope the plugin is self explanatory! :-?

I installed the Imbusy plugin because my PC would decide to hibernate all by itself. I created a command and assigned it to the plugin with the settings set to "enable". But now I have questions:
1. Does the mere presence of the command activate the feature, or do I have to execute the command?

2. If I have to execute it, how can I autorun it on startup?

3. What if I force a hibernate manually, do I have to re-run the command?
