Same buttong diff codes prob - SOLVED!!!!

well!!! After grazing through the Igo plug-in advanced setting help file FINALLY solved the problem!! HOW EASY it was!!

The polarity of the Igor plug-in was on 7 - just bumped it on up to 8 and she worked!!

Hopefully if anyone else has the same probs - this helps!!

Doesn't work on my UIR. I have tryed all sorts of remotes and UIR get 4 or 5 different codes for same button on all of them.
I also tryed to set priority to 8 on Igor plugin and it didn't work.
WindowsXP is on the machine.
Any other sugestions?

hrmmm....

has it EVER worked? are you getting any commands to work?

maybe - batteries are getting low - try fresh ones
maybe - try holding the remote REALLY close to the receiver - if still no go, will most likeyly be a software prob

also - are you hitting 'apply' each time you make a command before making a new one?

The UIR is not compatible with the Igor plugin. So you are talking about two different things.

I've made my UIR according to Igor's scheme that comes with plugin.
All the elements are same as those in the Igor's scheme.
...by the way : which is the longest distance that UIR should be reciving codes? My UIR recives up to about 5 meters. :-?

I forgot to write...
Batteries are new and when i put my remote realy close it is the same thing, so it is not the problem.
One more thing:
I tryed to use Serial plugin but whatever button i press during learning mode it says "DSR lost".

UIR stands for Universal Infrared Receiver. The UIR uses a microprocessor to decode the IR signals. Igor's device does the decoding in software (LIRC and Packard Bell Fastmedia receivers are almost identical). The UIRT (Universal Infrared Transceiver) is an enhanced version of the UIR with transmit capabilities. If you have built/bought a simple IR receiver (Igor's SFH-56, LIRC, PB Fastmedia) then you must use Igor's plugin. If it doesn't work, double check all your wiring and component values. Fiddle with all the settings in Igor's plugin - you can't break anything.

Hi all. I was wondering if anyone know the answer to my question. I have a problem with my remote control. When i press "learn event " and then a button on my remote i dont get one kode but at least a few of them. Sometimes they repeat. It depends on how long i press the button they chnge at the bottom of girder window. The code that is receiced however is a 5 digit number. i have noticed that the number of digits depends on the remote control I use. I have read some of the posts on this forum. Some of them sugget I should limit the maximum priority in settings of my plugin which is igor sfh-56. but when i get to this window it is too small. Not all the window options are shown. I tried resizing it by draging the egde but it wouldnt help. So i cant write in the field the maximum priority number. I cant even see the "ok" or "accetp" button (I dont know it it says ok or accept on it because i cant see the button only the edge of it. Because my remote sends different signals pressing the same button i cant mach the signal with any action. Please help if you can. i hope it was not a stupi question :oops:

there should be an 'advanced' or 'more settings' button - something along those lines

Thats right. There is "advanced button" but I can only see a small part of it because the window is so small and wont expand. I can choose to limit priority but I cant write in the value of this limitation as the window size wont let me. Thanks.:)

Can anyone please help me with this cause i cant work it out myslef. I have the one button many codes problem. Im using igor sfh56 device. When i get to options window it doesnt appear in its full size. I can see only part of it. I can only see edges of buttos in the lower part of the window. One of them says "advanced". After presing it the window expands but still not to its full size so that I cant write in the limitation for pririty level. Whats wrong? Please help :)
