I needed a led that pulsed when a command is send or received, this way i can see from a distance IF the unit detects the infrared signals when it is send by remote. So this modification does this job. When a ir command receives, the led signals when it receives something. This also works when sending, it pulses when it sends a command. This also works WIHOUT external power...but only for some motherboards my unit is not externally powered, only bu the comm cable...it seems enough to drive the led... but you have to experiment with this if external power is needed.

this is the modification: Connect the - of the led to the data-output of the receiver, connect the + of the led with one side of a 3k3 Ohm resister and connect the other side of the resister with the +5volt of the unit.

|----------------|----- OUTPUT-----|>(LED)-----====-(R=3K3)---- )) +5volt
| |
| ir-receiver |----- GROUND
| |
|----------------|----- +

I just tried it and finally i can actually see when it receives the ircommand !

Good luck

Starbbs,

I applied this mod to my UIRT and it works great. Thanks for the heads up.

Finally a reply..... glad it works.. This is a missing feature i personally think so because there is no way to see from a distance if the commands are received by the module.

Now you can see that you point your remote the right way and it also receives the commands

Also whis was a VERY VERY simple add-on and simple to add, maybe luc sees this and will add it also in future builds ?. permission is granted
