Hi,
I wrote for my HTPC an application for selecting and starting movies with a special or the default application (and saving the title for jaLCDs). When starting it searches the directory you defined in the commandline and all subdirectories for movies. If there is only one movie found this will be started at once. In the commandline you can select a special application for watching the movie otherwise it will started with the standard application for the actual file extension. If there are more than one movies found a window is opened (which can easily controlled by girder) where you can see and select the movie file names...
The filename without the file extension and underscores is saved in a textfile so that you can read it easily from jaLCDs. It is saved in a format which is optimized for LCDs with 20 chars.
If some of you are interested in using this application I would implement english language and advance error handling before asking Ron to bring it to the download section...
