Ok, since nobody responded..Guess I get to do it...

1) Download from ATI..the GENRMTCTL.dll and install it per their instructions. You will find this in the developer area of the site, or just do a search for it.

2) Download Girder, and the MMC 7.1 exported group. Until you get your remote hardware, you can use the keyboard to emulate your remote..this will quicken the design process...

Now, for hardware..I recommend Evation's IRMAN or the Redrats. Both of these will allow you to use any remote you want. If you need a IR repeater (So you can remote control from another room), I recommend the X10 Powermids...Alot of people like the Xantec Ir Repeaters..but I've seen people blow them up by pluging them in incorrectly, or have wiring problems..The powermids work great and are fool proof (You just plug them in)

After you decide what hardware to get, just get the plug in for it, and after a little setting up, you will be hands free.

NOTE: If you are interested in your PC sending IR signals out to control equipment.. then the SLINK-E is the hardware you should get..

You can get the exported groups directly from the main page here. But here is a shortcut:
http://www.girder.nl/exportgr.php

As far as what you put in the plugins folder, when you get your hardware, you'll put the corresponding hardware plugin in the GIRDERPLUGINSHARDWARE directory to let Girder know what device your gonna use. But until then, you don't need to put anything in there, cuz Girder comes with the keyboard plugin and right now, that is all you got.

As far as the software plugins, you can access them here:
http://www.girder.nl/download.php
These will just add more functionallity to Girder. Some, like the Button Mode plugin, are quite usable... It allows you to have Girder recognize when a button is held, or just tapped. Others, like the firecrack plugin, you don't really need unless you have a X-10 firecracker device. Just read the descriptions, and if they interest you, download them and most come with instructions so using them is quite easy for the most part.

And lastly, here is a shortcut to the ATI file you need to make MMC remote controllable:
http://www.ati.com/na/pages/resource_centre/dev_rel/genremctl.zip

Read the readme on how to install. You can put the file anywhere, but after doing the regsrv32 command mentioned in the read me, you shouldn't move it.

Yeah, Sendmsg 1.5 is the softplugin it is screaming about. You can download it here:
http://www.girder.nl/download.php

It should be included in the newest girder release. 3.023. Just rememeber to enable the software plugin by going into
FILE-SETTINGS-ACTION PLUGINS
and checkmarking Sendmsg 1.5
after installing

Thanks to all for the cool software and helpfull advice.

Equipment: All-in-wonder Pro, IRMan

Error Message: Cannot Find Softplugin

Problem: I have loaded and installed the GENRMTCTL.dll, and MMC7.1 plugin software. I have programmed my remote in the software, and yes, Girder acknowledges the signal. My problem falls with the MMC software never does anything. I have seen that I need to download the sendmessage 1.5 plugin. Where is this? Is this my problem?

Thanks again for anyone and everyone's help.
