I have a software, controlling external hardware. This software now should be able to control PowerDVD by using sendmessage for example and I'm not able to use girder. My questions:

1. I tried to send some keystroke commands to PowerDVD, but I got strange results. I think, I didn't understand the basics for this commans. Can somebody give me a short informations about the rules to use sendmessage with PowerDVD?

2. Is there a way to get informations back from PowerDVD, for example the actual elapsed time of the movie (mediafile playback from HD)?

3. Can somebody post me a list with available commands and the parameters for the commands to control PowerDVD?

4. Is there any other way to control PowerDVD?

Sorry for using this Girder forum for my questions.

I don't use PowerDVD so I have no experience with this application; however, others who have used PowerDVD have been kind enough to send in 3 exported PowerDVD groups which are on the exported groups (http://www.girder.nl/exportgr.php) page. I would suggest starting with one or more of these groups and see if you can figure them out.

Best of luck. :)

Hi Marc,
I've allready seen these expoted groups and I compared them with the exported groups from Zoomplayer. What I understand, are the groups for zoomplayer, but the groups for PowerDVD are written another way, so I think, they are not supposed to control PowerDVD with sendmessage commands. Am I right?

Thanks

Hi Ron,

can you tell me, which way Girder takes to controll PowerDVD? I'm studying all the articles here ion the forums but I didn't find the answer. The only thing I know is, Girder doesnt use sendmessage.

Thanks in advance

The existing groups for PowerDVD send keystrokes.

Look at DVDSpy plugin to get back information from PowerDVD/ZoomPlayer.
