No idea; trusting of course that you've tried the obvious things.
You could try the new TCP/IP 2.0 beta 2 plugin. If you continue to have problems, at least I could speak authoritatively!
Get it at:

To eliminate all possible variables, try NO password. Go to the config screen for the plugin and delete the password. In telnet, connect, and when you get the password prompt just hit return. Let me know what happens...

I've used the Win98/ME/2K/XP telnet clients, and they all work perfectly, without any configuration.
Something must be whacked in your setup.
Try deleting the TCP/IP DLL in your Girder directory, and deleting it's settings from the registry; in
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Software
Girder3
HardPlugins
TCPIP
DL the plugin again, install it, enable it, and try it again.

Maybe I'm being really stupid here but I can't get the TCP/IP plugin to work.
Settings -> Enable and configure for IP address and password, etc.
Enable the device and connect using Telnet. Get the greeting message and the password prompt. However, _everything_ I enter (i.e. including the correct password) gives 102: Password incorrect.
Any clues?
TIA,
- John

Thanks. I downloaded and installed the new beta but it has the same problem.
The Telnet client I'm using is Windows 2000 - is the TCP/IP server sensitive to any settings such as CR/LF? I also tried with a Telnet client on PalmOS but it had the same problem - the IP address is authenticated, the greeting message is displayed but the password is always rejected...
TIA,
- John

Thanks for the reply.
I already tried that and it doesn't work either. Still get password incorrect.
If you have source code I could use a debugger to try and see what is happening...
Cheers,
- John

I had the same problem with telnet, but managed to connect with the hyperterminal client in Win98. Try that!
