In ZP, I exported in keys to get a .gml file. I pointed to this file in Girder.

I d/l'ed uir_m.dll from Girder plugins (Is there a better one I should be using?)

My IR is the Creative CIMR100 on com2. uir_m.dll is set to com2. I do not know what the other settings in there should be set to (Help!)

Girder recognizes the IR receiver and responds to the little remote, and also my Toshiba VCR remote. It can "learn", though the response from each key seems the same in the "red" screen in the middle of the Girder display.

However, when I try to test, or execute any one of the key presses, Girder selects one of the keys (left side of Girder display), but nothing happens in ZoomPlayer.

Any help would be much apreciated! Thanks guys!

Welcome to Girder!

Your description really doesn't give much to go on, but try and see if you can execute simpler command first (before trying to get Girder to communicate with ZPlayer). For instance, create a new command (CTRL-A) and then go into the Girder tab on the bottom-right corner of the screen, and select "Simple OSD", and then write down some text on the bottom box, and click on the APPLY button. Then, click on the "Learn Event" button on the top-right corner, and have it learn one of your remote's buttons. To test this, make sure Girder is not the foreground window first.

Please do report back on whether or not this worked, and I'll try my best to help you get started with ZPlayer.

Also, try the Getting Started guide (http://www.girder.nl/help/gettingstarted/index.php) for some facinating reading. :D

Thanks for replying!

That was a piece of cake - I get a black box with my text written in it. Unfortunately, I get the same result regardless of which key I press on either of 3 IR remotes that I tried.

LOL!! been there done that ....

EDIT: Blight mentioned "sendmessage" and that led me to realize that I had my plugin pointer wrong. checking sendmessage and selecting the uir plugin, pressing a remote key produces results in ZP. It seems that I can only get a few keys to work (stop and rewind, so far) ....

EDIT: corrupt gml file. started over and works fine.
