I don't know if these will help but how about the timers on this page:

EDIT: I know this is brute force but it might work. Now I see you are from Oxford (UK?) and these are 110v timers. Not the best match. Sorry.
Xantech (www.xantech.com) has a bunch of remote controlled switches but they also appear to be 110v.
I don't know the equivilent UK companies to Xantech or leviton but they may have what you want.

Please can some one help
I need a device that will shut down a Lcd projector at a certain time each night. Doesnt matter if i have to use IR or RS232 Control.
