You can do anything you like with the TCP/IP server. At least just as much as any other plugin like the IRman or something.

aaah
Thats easy, once you get the hang of it. The TCP/IP server is just like any other plugin. It sends strings to Girder. And girder compares the strings to the ones in the tree. BUT it also compares the device numbers thus a string from the IRman and the TCP/IP server might be the same, but Girder won't trigger if the device is not the same.
Thus what you need to do is make a command, just as always. (like in the helpfile)
Press the learn button and now comes the trick, generate an event on the TCP/IP plugin. Meaning: type execute YOURSTRINGHERE
Now girder assigns the device number and your string to the selected command.
Next time you type : execute YOURSTRINGHERE in the tcp/ip plugin (via telnet or something) it will trigger the appropriate command!

I have toyed with the idea of making commands available by their group and command names...
I will see if I can make that work. I have some other features I'm working on for beta 4, I can probably work this in.

Hello,
I've read a help on that plug-in ... but got a question , what commands can we enter ? ...
b/c I'm looking into making a little program, that will remotely control my HTPC, so from living room I can control my HTPC without going into my room : ) ...
so, anyway to just send the codes of keys to girder thru tcp/ip ?
thanks.

I don't really understand how it's all works

ok...
so , there's no way of using already existed commands for TCP/IP ? ... I'll have to create their mirrors or links to them ?:(
