I have read through a few websites looking for info on remote circuits. The idea I have is to use one remote (or however many I want) throughout the entire house. I am trying to understand what the advantage of the UIRT would be in the whole scenario and what possibilities are there using it. I currently use an IRA for control of my PC via extra-long cabling to the livingroom. This is used to control the PC when I don;t want to use the wireless KB and mouse. What I would like to be able to do is somehow find a solution (can be wired) that makes it possible to have IR receivers and repeaters in all rooms of the home...something I can make via schematic that is easy to hide. PC control would also be favorable. Is there projects (or will this possibly do it for me) for:

a) schematics for IR receivers and repeaters for complete home control that work well in all/most conditions that are not completely line-of-sight and work well under decent distances?

b) Software for controlling the home or whatever (basically a customizable interface that can be used to control the home...possibly via a web server/web interface)

By the way, nothing is ever mentioned about the practical applications for UIRT. How long can the emmiter wires be? What about the receiver? Which ones work better and how well can I expect these to work?
