I don't understand. The receiver is the Realmagic remote one.
This receiver, while blinking at almost any IR code around, will correctly handle (and report to Girder) codes coming only from the RealMagic remote.
If I understand correctly your post, you're hoping that the RealMagic receiver can understand codes coming from your Toshiba remote, is that right ?
In this case, you're all wrong. Again, like other IR receiver that will blink at any IR being floating around, it is not designed as a universal receiver (the IRman is).

I have Girder 3.0.23, the IR receiver from REALmagic for DVD Station. I am using the hardware plugin CTinfra on COM3 and have enabled the input device. Girder has Input Device Enabled on the status line and the green light is on. I have downloaded a group file to control AccessDTV and would like to change the IR commands in this file to match my Palm Vx (running Omni Remote). I am using a Toshiba Remote and click Learn Event. Girder responds with "Waiting for IR Code" in the status box. I press the key on the Toshiba remote I want, the red light on the receiver flashes, but Girder does not see it. What am I missing?

The COM port is correct for 2 reasons:
The connection to the MB is to COM1/3
When Girder is enabled for COM3, I cannot use COM3 for anything else - Girder locks it.
I have been a software engineer for over 10 years, an Oracle DBA for over 6 years and am now a systems architect.
I just don't know how - exactly - Girder executes yet - only used for 1 hour. How can I test the comunication of IR to a computer; this IR receiver worked with the remote to control PowerDVD. I don't like PowerDVD (WinDVD) and I want to control everything with one remote. If I can get Girder working, I accomplish these goals.

I posted this also on the AVS forum. Thanks for your reply; you are right on. Just took it as an assumption (stupid on my part).
It now works with this particular remote. As I said before, I downloaded the file to control the AccessDTV. I have gotten all of the functions to work the way I would like, with the exception of one (two?). I can't get the volume to work (through PC, I'm sorry, I will get the audio through the sound system as soon as I can afford a "real" amp). I know that the keyboard works with + and -; I tried both, the ones on the "normal" keyboard and the ones on the ten key.
Probably another stupid question; if there was a FAQ, I might have an answer without bothering anyone.
