Newbie help needed

i was able to get a Realmagic remote with a serial IR, but im not able to get it recognized in Girder. ive read everything in the forums about a realmagic remote and it seems most of u have gotten them to work. what am i doin wrong? i can get other events to work via keyboard, but not thru the damn remote. am i waisting my time? i like to be able to use the remote over a keyboard, cause im buildin a pc to go into my truck. thanx for the help in advance...

is another remote working with your uirt?
the realmagic normally works fine with uirt.

when i press a button on the remote, i see a red LED flashin. so that part works. In the Settings part i have checked off under plug ins: UIR/IRman/IRA/CTInfra/Hollywood+ Plugin. and when i go to enable by pressin the F9 key it says no input devices selected. i bet its the most stupidest thing that im missing with my luck...

yep it was stupid, wrong com port i had. so now my problem is when i make it to learn. it just sits there. so anyone with info on what to do now???
