LUA Volume controls?

Lately, I have been playing around with NetRemote (an awesome program) and would like to use its slider capability with girder to control the volume. Netremotes send the value of the slider to Girder via the internet event server. I would like to use this value to set an absolute value on the wave volume control. Are there extensions to LUA to allow volume control?

I would like to do the same thing but control my reveiver volume. I already have a NetRemote slider button sending a value to a Girder, but I need to figure out how to apply that variable into a Generic Serial Support command that's going to my receiver.
