I'm not sure what is wrong, but multicommands and Girder being the foreground window are completely unrelated.
This problem though sounds as a targeting problem. You might have to check if you are targeting the correct window, and sometimes even if you are targeting the right control inside that window. (Edit control or something similar)

Yes of course, I was thinking along the lines of a programing error when Girder was in the foreground. that seemed very unrelated to me, but you are right, timing can be an issue!

Give us more details:
What OS are you running?
(ie, Win98SE? WinME? Win2K?)
What hardware and with which plugins?
(ie, irMAN with UIR plugin version xxx? IBM MultiMedia ("MM") keyboard with keyboard 2.1 plugin?)

I have got to the point where Girder controlling everthing the way I want it to. The only problem is that it is only working when it is the foreground window. I have tried the traybar mode and checking/ unchecking the execute in the foreground window box but nothing seems to work. Am I missing somthing? Any ideas?
Thanks

I am running Windows ME, IR Man with the IR server Plug in (I think this is what is is called). 900 mhz AMD processor, ASUS A7 mother board
I use girder to control mostly the opening and closing of Winamp and Power DVD. I have been using the software supplied with the IR Man to control the individual program controls such as "Play" etc. Everything works just the way I would like it to as long as the girder window is open.

I have the same problem, i.e. a Girder Multicommand only runs when Girder is in focus.
Unfortunately there seems to be no solution for this problem?
To check I made a very small example with a multicommand containing 5 commands:
1. open notepad
2. enter 1. string
3. enter 2. string
4. enter 3. string
5. close
After executing the multicommand via a learnt keyboard command, I see the notepad with the concatenated 3 strings -when I execute the command with Girder in focus.
When I move the focus to another window, the command executes open notepad, sometimes the 1. string is entered. With "capture" switched on, it never shows the first entered string.
Did I miss something about multicommands? Is it e.g. necessary to wait for the window before I can enter a string?
Please note that the command described is not what I really wanted to do with Girder, just an example which doesn't work for me.
I run plain W98 and Girder 3.0. I tried the latest Beta version, but no change.
Cheers,

Thanks for the quick reply. I guess I have found the error just by inserting a wait before inserting the 1. string.
I think your "unrelated" statement might not be quite true: if you capture the actions with Girder in focus, there is much more going on with tabs etc. Thus the edit window exists already when the first string should be inserted.
In my case the 1. string came too fast: the window didn't yet exist. Now, with 10 msec wait it functions properly.
Cheers,
-Harald
