I have a Hal2000 automation system in the home. It controls Lights and A/V equipment. The A/v is done through an Ocelot which sends the IR commands to the TV, DVD, etc. Now I have a Viewsonic Airpanel and with using Main Lobby I can make a really cool remote. Problem is Hal will not accept commands from Main Lobby. So the question is can I use Girder to control the Ocelot that my other program also uses? If I can then the A/V thing would work!

You can, although I haven't done it, communicate with the ocelot via the serial plugin.
Another, better option is probably to use homeseer and have girder talk to homeseer and then homeseer to the oclet. Thats what I am planning on doing when I get around to it in the next few months....
