Despite blinking to anything IR, the Realmagic remote receiver is designed to recognize only codes from the associated remote. If you need a universal receiver, grab an IRman.

For what I do, the Realmagic remote is just fine for me and the IR keyboard allows me a couple more IR events sent to my computer.

But defintely, you can't use anything but the Realmagic remote with the Realmagic receiver.

Have you tried installing WinLIRC to see if it recognizes your remotes (Your reciever may be recieving it but girder wouldn't recognize it on its own). It may recognize them, then you could set it up for one of your remotes and install the WinLIRC Hardware plugin for Girder.

Is there any universal remote (or particular setting) compatible with the Hollywood+ IR receiver? I want a better remote than the crappy one that H+ gives you, but the receiver doesn't detect any of my universal remotes (RadioShack 6-in-1 and X10 standard 6-in-1).
Has anyone gotten those (or any other remotes) to work right? If so, using what setting for the remote?

Thanks,
Rob

D'oh! I was hoping that was not the case :/

Thanks for the info though,
