I agree with John that this would be helpful behavior. I manually collapse all MultiGroups before testing commands with lots of conditional register actions and Goto's. This makes it easy to see if the MultiGroup has made the proper jumps and is behaving as I intended. While it's certainly not difficult to manually collapse everything, the added conveneince would be a plus.

I like your new(?) signature.
Depending on the effect you are really looking for, maybe this will help a bit: You can colapse the topmost level of the tree and that will hide all the lower levels. Of course when they expand again, they remember how they were expanded the lst time and do that again.

New to girder so maybe what I'm about to suggest is there but don't know how yet
In the main treeview of girder, can an option to expand/colapse ALL be added from the point of selection down the tree.
Why I ask this is I'm playing with 2 groups in the treeview right now. When I test a command all the groups subgroups etc. expand. I then need to go and click on each one and colapse it.
If I could just right click on it and select expand/colapse ALL (which would be a toggle) it would be a lot easier.
Like I said maybe it is there and I don't know it
