Problems with the Joystick Plugin

What version of DirectX do you have installed on your system?

The Joystick plugin appears to be for DirectX 8 but you could contact the author to find out.

If i unzip the joystick plugin into the plugins/hardware subdir, then launch girder, i get the following errors:

The dll DINPUT8.dll could not be found in the specified path..

Error D:/girder/plugins/hardware/joystick.dll

Error Code:2

girder then launches but the joystick is notavailable to select in the hardware plugins list.
i'm running win2k and girder 3.0.23
has anyone else experienced similar problems with this plugin or could give me a hand?

DirectX Version 7.0 (4.07.00.0700)
This seems to be be the one that came with windows - i dont remember having installed it separately.

Ok, ill install directX 8 and see if that helps. Thanks for the advice :smile:
