directions for internet event client

Is there any information available online on how to use the internet event client? I want to use it, but I don't know where to start. Actually, I'm not even sure if this is the best plugin for what I want to do. I want to control one computer through another. (for example, hitting F5 on my bedroom computer should mute the computer in the living room).

The internet event client and server can do what you want. Have you looked at the ievent_readme.txt file in the Girder\Help directory?
