That reminds me,.. I really should put something in Girder that warns if a specific plugin is used but not enabled....

Welcome to the Girder forums.
Did you download the DScaler export group from here (http://www.girder.nl/exportgr.php)? Did you learn an IR event for each command you wish to execute in the DScaler group?

I'll try to explain. Please bear with me as I sometimes don't go into enough detail or gloss over points that are important. I think some or all of this is in the help file that Ron provides with Girder, though I haven't looked lately. Also, Girder can seem hard to configure, at first. Once you learn it's quirks, it is VERY powerful.
As you know, Girder is used to control other applications, devices, etc. Right now, you want Girder to control an application (DScaler). Before Girder can control your application, you must do a few things. You must define the commands used to control the application (this is already done in the DScaler_WM.GXR file), you must make sure you have installed all the plugins required to control the application (if you haven't already, download and enable the SendMessage plugin from the download (http://www.girder.nl/download.php) page) and you must tell Girder which button on your remote causes which command in the .gir file to execute. I call this last part "Learning an IR event".
To learn an IR event for your remote control (and assign it to a command), highlight the command and press the "learn event" button on the Girder screen. The status message at the bottom of the Girder application window should say "Waiting for IR Code". Press the button on your remote that you want to use to execute that command. For example, if you are trying to learn a button for the "channel up" command, press the button on the remote for "cnhannel up". The status message at the bottom of the Girder application window should say "Captured IR Code".
From this point on, the command you chose will execute when you press the button on your remote control. Repeat this operation until you have learned a button for each command you want to use from your remote.
Once you have learned the IR events for the commands you care about, be sure to save the .gir file.
If this is unclear or you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

so, I have a problem in remotecontrolling DScaler 3.0.7 with my PCTV Studio pro remote control with the help of girder. I installed all der Software, and grinder recieves the signals from the remote control, this means the light in the bottom of the window is blinking and the key pressed on the remote is shown. But DScaler doesn't do anything.
What is wrong, what did I forget?

I used the group called DScaller_wm.gxr to get the commands I need.
