First problem, CPU usage to high at that instant.
Second problem, IRQ usage of the Video card, this means also no time for the audio to be piped to the card, thus stuttering.
Third, I've seen that in delphi programs, did
you save the .gir file before closing windows ?

I also have the Packard Bell remote and use the Igor plugin... I have an AMD K6(2) 450 w/256 meg ram... and I don't have your problems.
I do know that if you pre-amp your signal too much, you will hear distortions and cracks when using the remote. An example of this would be caused by Windows volume being set at say 10%, Your amp at say, 80% to achieve a good volume level. So in actuallity, when your playing MP3's, your outputting a low volume and ramping it up from there. So even the slightest sound, is preamped up as well. If you correct the imbalance, and set Windows volume at around 80%, and leave it there, and use your amp volume to control the sound, you will avoid this problem. In more advanced layouts, you may be using more than 1 amp..in those cases, all amps should be set at around 80% and the final one should control the overall volume.
The last part about Windows not shutting down, you should END TASK programs one at a time till you find what is causing the problem.
I had a similar problem, but reinstalling GIRDER and only checking the plugins I use solved my problem. Only IGOR hardware plugin should be checked, and in software plugins, only the ones you have used.

When sending command to Girder, a lot or cracking is occur.
I use Packard-Bell's FastMedia (with Igor SFH-56 Plugin)- which may explain this behaviour - due to to the need to monitor the COM port all the time.
But also when I open Girder window and scroll with my Intellimouse Explorer USB I hear it. I must say it is not happening with other windows programs!
Another problem - when shutting down windows - Girder is not responding to the shut down process, and the shut down is stopped until I have to press "End task"
What happening ?
Please help, Thanks!

>First problem, CPU usage to high at that instant.
I have P-III 800, 256 Mb RAM, W2k
Normal CPU usage when Winamp plays - below 15%
When scrolling down girder commands windows it surely does jumps to 100% !!!
>Second problem, IRQ usage of the Video card, this means also no time for the audio to be piped to the card, thus stuttering.
Maybe it's correct - but it doesn't occur whenever Girder is not in use (ie. scrolling or receiving command).
>Third, I've seen that in delphi programs, did
you save the .gir file before closing windows ?
This is happening also when I start Girder whitout any change to the commands layout!
Thanks for your VERY fast respond!

I have found the cause for the shut-down process failure of Windows (2000):
It's the "Disable plugins on APM events" checkboxs that was checked.
After I have unchecked it - shutdown process was just fine!
Can you please explain to me what is that option exactly?
Thanks a lot, Tomer

About cracking noise in Winamp -
I must say that when changing volume slider of the SB Live mixer manually - not with Girder - the cracking never occur. Also when changing any other volume.
I have tried all volume combinations - it is not the issue here.
It is simply Girder who cause this problem - no other way of changing volume makes this problem.
I thing maybe it's the Igor's plugin that pools messages from the COM ports all time.

I get the crackling noise when pressing any button while I am running MediaJukebox. I also notice that while running a DVD, the DVD becomes jumpy while pressing a button. I too am using the Packard Bell Fast Media remote with the Igor plugin. Just wanted to let it be known that this guy isn't the only one having that problem.
