Hi,
I've got a Kensington mouse which has by far the best mouse driver I've seen. The 3 features I can't live without are:
- program specefic button settings
- assignment of any keyboard sequence to a mouse button
- assigning tasks when 2 buttons are pressed simultaneously
On the other hand I find the Microsoft and Logitech mice more comfortable to use. So I've been trying to find an application that would give me these mouse features without being tied to a specific hardware manufacturer. The only program I've come across that might work is Girder. I downloaded the program and the mouse plugin and couldn't get it to work. However, after reading the FAQ I'm not so sure Girder will do what I want it to do. So I'm hoping someone here can tell me if it can, otherwise I won't spend time learning this program.
The FAQ seemed to suggest that Girder can't tell what window currently has the focus, and if that is the case, there would be no easy way to program buttons in a program specific way. Changing profiles on opening or closing applications won't cut it since I would need the button assignments to change dynamically between several open programs. So is this possible or am I walking down a dead end?
Thanks in advance,
iRic
