I'm not sure why the plugin would fail in W2K. It only uses defined Win32 interfaces and MFC. I've tested on NT 4, Win '95 and Win '98.

As I asked responding to your E-Mail, have you defined or imported a device?

I'm glad this is working for you but this is a bug in the serial plugin. I'll see if I can track this down and fix it before sending the source to Ron.

This bug is fixed in version 2.3 of the serial plugin (now available for download).

Hello, Wired. Welcome to Girder.

The "Generic IR Receiver (UIR)" plugin is designed for use with a receiver that has a micro controller running firmware that sends streams that conform to the UIR protocol. I don't think it will work with the schematic that you pointed to. You might try the "Serial Port" plugin instead. However, I don't know what the settings would be for this circuit.

If you want to see the events Girder is receiving (without needing to learn them to a command) you can use the "logger" plugin from the download page.

Good luck!

Sorry, my bad. I misunderstood.

Did you try the logger plugin? It will show all the events that Girder is seeing from all the input (hardware) plugins.

What settings are you using for the Serial plugin for this device? (Baud, parity, word size, start/stop bits) Are you sure this matches what your remote sends?

Does Marks serial driver work with W2K? Im running v2.2 of Marks code and v3.0.24pre3 of Girder.

Works like a champ! I didn't create the serial device:( Thanks Mark.

hi!
I'm trying to get Girder to work under Win2k with a homemade IR device. I'm using the generic serial-based ir receiver driver. The schematic I used is http://www.antenet.fi/irassistant/burstschema.gif which is basically an ir demodulator sending streams to the serial port. The problem is, Girder doesn't recognize those signals.. it just stops at Waiting for IR code when I click on Learn Event. Am I doing something wrong?

thanks

hi!

I am using the serial port plugin, not the UIR plugin. There is a mode where I can see the data being received by Girder, but I can't bring that screen again without restarting - it sticks at Waiting for IR code. (it appears on the status bar of the window and the green button flashes yellow). After about 5 seconds, it stops responding.

Any ideas?

thanks!
