Hi!
Thought I'd share my experiences with Girder and Pinnacle PCTV with you :-)
The main problem all along has been that it requires a separate plug-in to work OK. Now, this plug-in does not work in Windows XP nor Windows 2003. This is beacause it cannot open the COM-port in the same way as for the OS's it was designed for.
My relatively cheap, and 100% solution is as follows:
Get a hold of one of these http://www.sunsway.com.hk/products/usb232.html.
It is a USB-2-RS232 adapter, and since its driver was designed to work with all Windows version, it apparently lets the girder plug-in open its port :-)
So, that's all there is to a simple solution!
Add another COM-port by using this device, and the Pinnacle PCTV works flawlessly :D
Good luck!!
