There is an IrDA Plugin but it is not supported and I will ignore any support requests about it. If you think you can do a better job with IrDA please be my guest and update the driver.

( sorry if this sounds agitated but I get too many support requests for this driver even though I explicitly say that I do not support it. )

The TechRAM device appears to be an IRDA type device. Is this correct?

There is an IRDA plugin available for Girder but IRDA isn't designed to be used with consumer electronics remote controllers. It might work, it might not.

Handys, notebooks and PDAs work because they are IRDA devices.

Are you trying to use a remote control with this attachment? If so, I don't know if there is a way to make it work or not. I used the search link at the top of this page and didn't see much in the way of people able to use IRDA devices with remote controllers.

IRDA is a different IR frequency, has a specific protocol that is NOT supported by remote controllers and, generally, a much more limited range. I would use an IRMAN instead, but that is me.

Best of luck. I hope you find a way for this to work.

Hello,

I have the problem that I'm not able to get Girder work with XP and my Tekram serial infrared adapter. Can you please help me.

Thank you Seag

It does not work with this plugin, it can be activated but the program does not receive any signals. But this IR is quite good I thought. It works with all kind of other IR devices, like Handys, Notebooks, PDAs. Is there no chance to get this work?

Hmm... This can't be so hard to fix?

I also have a Tekram 210 and if I use serialwatcher it recivs codes on COM 1 when i press the remotecontrol.

With girders "rival", pc remote control, it works just fine after desabling the windows driver. Then again, that program is shareware and have limitations. Btw the optimal speed is 2400 for Tekram 210 in PCR.

I've tried the Serial plugin but can't get it to work...

Anyone?

Finaly made it with the serial port driver

I faild to see (!) the setting tab under hardware... There I could set COM 1 and 2400 baud rate. Now it recives signal from the remote. Havent saved keystrings yet but hope it ain't gonna bring up some new problems.
