Lirc architecture is a server and a socket connection to whoever wants to "listen" to incoming events.
As long as a socket is involved, it can local or remote, so probably can work with plugin and Winlirc on different machines.

That's a wild guess however.

If you have a home made, cheap com IR receiver, like the one that works with winlirc, and want to use it with girder, maybe you could wait a little more, for the plugin i'm actually writing.

PS: Beta testing and suggestions will be appreciated.

The second one. No TCP server, no signal sending, no others receivers. I'm doing this 'cause Winlirc doesn't support my remotes.

Does the WINLIRC plug-in support connecting to WinLirc on another machine?

MatB,
I'd love to give it a try!
BTW the part that's missing from the current plugin is the ability to specify the server address and therefore point it ot a server on another machine.

@thumphr

In the new version of the WinLIRC-Plugin you can specify server/port to a remote (Win)LIRC-Server.

Should be available in the next days in the Girder-Downloadarea or here:
