laptop infrared reciever

I have a gateway m505 laptop with a built in infrared reciever on it (as most laptops do) how can i get this to work with girder?

Hi,

This is an IRDA device which doens't work with consumer IR.

You will need a consumer IR receiver to work with Girder.
