Try the Evation IRserver if the UIR plugin doesn't work for you.

Come to think of it, check if the IRserver isn't running already, cause if that is the case the UIR plugin won't work anyways, you have to either disable the irserver or use the irserver plugin for girder.

I connected an IR-receiver to the COM-port. Which input device should I choose? I tried some but everything I get is the error message "Could not enable input device(s).".,

So, any help on this one?

I've just recieved IRman and have a similar problem. I can only enable an input device by checking the "skip UIR init test" in UIR/IRman/ settings/hardware profiles. Unfortunately my IR signals are not recognized - I get "waiting for IR code". I am able to recieve IR in the Windows control plugin v1.3 that came from evation.

The IRman came with a CD that worked with girder 2.0, but not the most recent update. IRserver did the trick - working fine now!
