Girder 4 might support this. But Girder 4 will not be ready until at least second quarter 2002.

It is possible to get girder running as a service at the moment, but you can't get access to the UI so you would have to set it all up first.
There is an MS command util that lets you set normal exicutables to run as a service but I can't remember what it is called. Shouldn't be to hard to find though.

What benefit is there to running Girder as a service instead of the way it's done now?

Benefits would be for example to have Gilder Running First (before u are logged into NT). So for example, if Gilder is a service, ucan Lock ur computer (WIndows Lock) and still use ur remote.

I got a software, that "disable" Gilder when Launched. Service would be a solution for me.

PS: Whaooo...V4.0 will not be available untils Second part of 2002 !!!!

Is there a way or will there be a way to run Girder as service with Windows 2000?

I found the MS tool, it's name srvany.exe. I've set it up for Girder and it worked basically but Girder failt to load the settings I've made.
I think I'll wait for Girder 4 - running Girder as service is an interesting idea but not essential.
