Have you downloaded the other (LCD) communications manual on the same site? It shows a bit more information about a communications protocol (it appears to use a frame of data, including a start byte, a check sum and a stop byte) which that line of projectors requires. I don't know if the 808s work the same way or not.

Does your user's manual mention the RS232 baud rate?

No, I couldn't get the thing to take the commands. I tried all combinations of parity, stop bits, translate hex and so on, but nothing happened. Has anybody got a good suggestion?

I haven't downloaded it yet, but I'll do that now and test it tonight. And yes, the baud rate is selectable via switches on the proj, and right now it's on 9600. But thanks, I'll try the LCD-manual. :smile:
