Slinke, error deleting device

Hi Spaceman,

Welcome to the Girder Forum. I'm also running the Slink-e on a WinME box. I've had Girder lockup on shutdown issues with this combo since June--see this post (http://www.girder.nl/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=305&forum=2).

The workaround is to shutdown Girder before shutting down or restrating Windows.

XP seems like it might. I started upgrading last night and the couple of times I've restarted it, Girder hasn't locked up--not exactly conclusive but a good start :smile:. I won't have a chance to do anything more with XP until Sunday but I'll post results when I know more.

Well, good news/bad news...

Good News: not one lockup in 20 or so restarts/shut downs, etc. Bad news: see this post (http://www.girder.nl/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=766&forum=2&0)

Im running Win-me and using Girder with
Slinke.when i shut down the computer with-
out closing girder first I get Slink error
deleting device.Then girder hangs and the
shutdown hangs.
Any ideas anyone?

Thanks Steve,
I have started to use Girder instead of
Homeseer because there are more features
controling winows in Girder.But I don't like
the workaround to remember to close girder
when shutting down my pc.Do you think converting to Win2000 or XP will help?
