Strange comp pauses

Igors plugin is a polling plugin, this means that it does a lot of work, thus boggin your computer down when something happens at the IR receiver. Many of the other IR devices do the decoding in the hardware so they do not put this load on the PC.

Hi, i have a PB Fastmedia Remote using Igor's plugin; whenever girder gets a command from my remote, my comp sort of pauses for a second, like my winamp mp3 will stop for a fraction of a second and then continue, as if girder needed a whole lot of CPU resources to process the command

is this normal, or am i doing something wrong?

I have the same problem. it's annoying too cause it responds the same to any IR signal... even when turning the volume up on my tv...
