I am 44 pages through 288 page AVS thread, and the FAQ (which is no longer an FAQ but is also some basic documentation) is already 4 pages long!

Anyhow, I think I have identified the major areas. Let me know if you think there are any main sections that need to be added. This is _not_ formatted for presentation at this point.

Wow. This looks great so far, Zak. Good job, can't wait to see the final result!

Ok, here's the update:

I also created an HTML version here:

Zak - I just keep three empty frames. One across the top, and about a 20% frame on the left hand side.

What did I do wrong?

Well, you see, the blank frames are representative of the unfettered freedom and limitless possibilities of NetRemote. It's also representative of the fact that I'm a moron. I just installed Frontpage this morning, and didn't bother checking the results from another computer. It looks like it's fixed now, so please give it another try:

Also, keep in mind that the Word doc is where I did the formatting, and I just cut-and-pasted it into Frontpage to have a web version. Should I ditch the Word doc altogether and clean up the web version? Doesn't make a difference to me.

Looking good Zak. We all appreciate your work. I know that there is a lot to do.

Looks great. I'll try to knock together a section on Girder label/image feedback.

Zak, thanks for putting this together. Your short tutorial setting up a girder event and a netremote button helped me figure out my Delta410 volume control issues.

Gregg,

Glad to hear it helped! I was beginning to wonder if it was worth it, but now I know it definitely is!

Zak, It has actually motivated me into trying to learn Girder and Tonto. The possibilities seem endless.

How much snow did you get dumped on you down there? I just came in from shoveling (10-12" so far) with the MAJOR part of the storm due in here shortly. Supposed to end sometime tomorrow around noon. Started here today around 7am. Totals forecasted to be around 2'.

Girder intimidated me at first, but once you learn how to do 5-6 basic things, you can control pretty much anything on your PC.

We got hammered pretty badly. I'm just outside DC, and we got 16" (started Sunday morning at 2am). Areas southwest of us got over 2'.

I finally got out to buy a snow shovel today, and spent a couple hours digging out the driveway. It's pretty coming down, but boy is it a PITA to get rid of!

We have what seems like 2 feet here! I was just about to go snowblow -again- when my snowblower up and broke. Damn thing.

I got some good NetRemote work done, and watched Zorro Superbit. Would have been a good day if the 3 month old snowblower was still working. :(

Oh well. Life goes on.

Ben, now if you could just get NetRemote to control your snowblower....then you'd really be on to something.

I added Ben's FAQ's to the documentation.

I just finished updating the documentation for MJB supoprt. It's not 100% comprehensive, but it walks you through setting up one control and gives you the codes for setting up the rest:

Muchos changes, and a little organization. It still looks like crap (Cyndrax is going to pretty it up), and it's not overly exciting for most of you, but it's all I got!

What's New:
- All new screenshots
- New installation instructions with minimum versions
- Instructions for setting up custom resolution CCFs
- New navigation and links to related topics

Looking good, Zak. Congrat's on the first multipage post here on the forum, too!

When you say whats new, do you mean what's new up, or what's new you are about to upload? I don't see these new things yet. Is it a caching issue?

Do you and Cyndrax want me to host this, eventually? I can plug it in when I actually organize the website.

Thanks for pointing that out- all fixed now! The files are yours whenever you want them. I don't want to foist them on you if you don't want to host them, though!

Zak,

The guide is great. One little suggestion. Could you add "Lua-Socket Library" to the Girder plug-in setup section of "Setting Up NetRemote". All forms of Girder feedback will depend on this.

Thanks. Gavin

Done. I was not sure what the LUA port was supposed to be, so I suggested setting the Girder listen port to 1023 (it worked for me). If that should be different, let me know.

I won't have much (if any) time to work on the documentation over the next two weeks. However, keep posting suggestions and corrections and I will get to them as soon as I can!

Hi Zak,
Can I send you some updated information to be included in your userguide? We should bring it up to date with RC7.

Thanks Zak!

Sure, send them along! We recently moved and my HTPC and PJ are sitting in a box still, so I haven't done anything with NR in a while. I will do my best to incorporate the changes, though. I'm on vacation next week, so it may be a couple of weeks before I get them incorporated and out there.

Thanks Zak. I'm bundling up the changes now to send off to you, but you probably won't have it for a few days.

Thanks again, Zak.

No problem! I will be out of town next week, but will take a look at it when I get back.
