Hey All,

I am using an Ipaq to control MC9 with multi-zones through girder. This is working great, I have song feedback, playlist feedback, and zone feedback all to the ipaq (3850). I just installed the win32 version for use on another PC to control one zone and some of the feedback is getting blocked...again it works fine on the Ipaq but not with the Win32 version - girder displays a "connection blocked" error at the bottom of the screen - I am using the LAU feedback by Gavin to send feedback, I have the Ipaq and the PC close to each other and it is displaying on the Ipaq but not on the PC. The controls seem OK with the Win32 version and MC9's song info displays fine I can play/pause stop etc. the only info that is not displaying is the LAU feedback. I checked the config and the IP and port number in the Girder driver on the Win32 version are pointing to the same server info and port # as the ipaq, I checked in the debug section of the .gml to confirm that the Win32 PC is registered and it has - it lists both the Ipaq and the PC....I'm I missing something simple???

Thanks for the help

Kevin

I'm hoping Gavin can hop in here and provide more info, or that our revised feedback (coming in the next few days) will work for you.

I am unsure why this would be happening.

Can you try to telnet to the Win32 feedback port, and see if it at least connects?

Thanks for the response....keep up the great work!

I checked the telnet and yes it opens the port...checked with a netstat and saw the port open...hopefully Gavin may have some insight...

Again...Great Work - love it on my Ipaq (3850)

Kevin,

My guess is that problem is related to the "registration" of the devices. When a device registers for feedback, Girder remembers it forever (well until a script reset). My guess is you have registered teh PPC and then turned it off. Girder is still probably trying to send to it.

Good news is that the new feedback system (coming real soon  ) avoids this messy registration issue. If a send fails after a (shorter) timeout, the client will be ignored.

Please hang in there.

Gavin
