Girder control of entire AV system

I would like to get a dual monitor system and put one lcd monitor next to my seating area, the other would be my hdtv. I'd like to have mouse control of my entire system and all components. I did some research and I can't find any definitive answers here. I'm using win xp pro. What exactly do I need to do/buy to set this all up?

I am running a multi-monitor setup in Windows XP. I think if you baught the Matrox G550 video card you would be able to do pretty much what you want. In fact you have given me an idea of adding a third monitor to my system (if i can) and putting it next to my bed.
