I am anxious to try out the net remote software but have some super duper basic hardware questions that I hope someone will answer.
I’m intending to use my Black and White Ipaq 3100 and a compact flash 802.11b card I got at Compusa for about $30 (after rebate). Now, I have read the hardware requirements and I have everything but a wireless access point. Should I purchase just an “access point” or are the wireless routers/gateways also compatible? One reason I ask is that many of the gateways are super cheap (I saw the netgear MR814 for $50 after rebates). The second is that I thought access points were generally added to a pre-existing network so am a little concerned if this is all I would need. Finally, I don’t have broadband or any other needs for a network. This project is just to get the bio-directional control over MJ.
