Are there any plans to put the NetRemote source in a public CVS so we can help you work on it? I'd like to be able to contribute somehow and have done eVC++ work. Thanks for your great work so far - it is an awesome program.

Hi CodeHusker:

I have tossed the idea around, but haven't decided yet. For now, I'll definitely accept help. Shoot me an email and I'll keep you in the loop when I (finally) get the CVS server set up, like I've been promising Dave T. for weeks.

The #1 thing I would -love- help with is supporting the UIRT2 using NRIRServ. Unfortunately having the UIRT2 not being my unit, and having the experience of how easy it was getting the slinke working, I'm a bit shot on the UIRT2, as I can't get anything reliably out of it. I'm close to saying the UIRT2 support might be out, and to urge people to upgrade to the UIRT-USB.

This would make me feel really bad about the UIRT2 Aaron has lent me since October, so I'd really love to get UIRT2 support in.

Is this something you could help with, CodeHusker?

Thanks!
Ben

I wouldn't be of much assistance with the uirt stuff, or at least be starting from the first floor. There are other pieces and bugs that would be a good fit.

Ben, that would annoy my brother as well, since he as fought with that UIRT2 for a month now (well, at least he has had me hanging over his sholder to finish the damn thing!). 8)

I'm deep in the middle of converting the internal feedback mechanism and upgrading the Media Center communication. When I'm done I'll move the whole project back into cvs and we'll figure out how others can help.

Thanks!

Guys,
I'd suggest asking the two designers for some help.

Luc Degrande (hardware)
-- web site... http://users.skynet.be/sky50985
-- email addr... luc.degrande@skynet.be

and

John Reese (firmware)
-- web site... http://home.earthlink.net/~jrhees/USBUIRT/index.htm
-- email addr... uirtsupport@earthlink.net

If it helps sell UIRTs I'd think they be willing to help?

I chatted with Jon today. He offered his assistance in writing the plug-in for NetRemote support of the UIRT2 & USB.

Ben, can you get Jon the code to work on? I'm sure with his intimate knowledge of the UIRTs and the code you already have done he should be able to whip it out in no time at all!

That would be absolutely fantastic. I'll send him the code today!

Just want to confirm, I've sent Jon the code, and he and Dave T. will collaborate.
