I'm using the Question as a message popup.
I think useful to add the following features:
1- Autosize the popup on the text size
2- Set the persistence time of the popup (don't wait for a command)
Well, i think it will be easier to add a new function for it.

I just sent Ron a new plugin that allows you to display the OSD with text and set the timeout; however, it doesn't re-size the OSD to the text. It is (creatively :) ) called OSD PopUp. I'm sure he'll put it up as he gets a chance.

Thanks Mark,
As a suggestion, it is nice to display a permanent message(customizable) on the screen showing which application's buttons are active,
for example, there are winamp and cdplayer running I want to know if the buttons to winamp is active or the cdplayer.

This is a great idea! However, I don't think the built in Girder OSD that I use would be the BEST way to do this. I believe the OSD is intended for transient messages and hence the timeout.

For the near term, I'll see if I can add an "infinite" button to the current OSD PopUp plugin and a new command that allows you to dismiss the OSD window (to be used with the alarm plugin for longer timeouts). I'm not sure when I'll do this so don't hold your breath. :)

For the longer term, I believe this function would be better served with a new plugin that would put up a "status" window. Commands like "Show Status Window", "Set Status Window Text", "Set Status Window Attributes" (colors, fonts, etc.) and "Hide Status Window" seem natural. I cannot promise anything (I just received another hardware toy at home and I need to build a two-way plugin for it :) ) but this is now on my "to do" list.

I just sent an updated OSD PopUp (version 1.1) to Ron. It includes an "Infinite" timeout option. It is really a 20 day timeout, but in PC reliability terms, that is as close to infinite as I can get. :)

I hope this works like you want. I still have the other plugin on my "to do" list.
